RG1
Known locally as the Murry to the Mountains Intern Program, RG1s complete hospital rotations at Albury Wodonga Health or Northeast Health Wangaratta across General Medicine, General Surgery and Emergency Medicine to Intern training requirements. Both health services have outstanding workplace culture and welcoming communities.
The 20-week extended community-based rotations will be completed at one of nine participating GP clinics based in some of Victoria’s most beautiful locations, such as Benalla, Cobram, Kyabram, Mansfield, Mount Beauty/Falls Creek and Yarrawonga.
The RG1 Training Program includes a series of rural generalist skills workshops and medical education online tutorials, which are mandatory components and feature renowned presenters on a variety of relevant topics. The skills workshops are hands on and always well received.
Medical Education tutorials are delivered from RCH Paediatricians and other Specialist Geriatricians with topics based around the rural environment covering common presentations you will come across in your rotations.
RG1s will also present at one Clinical Grand Round and one Clinical Review Meeting in the General Practice/Rural Health Service rotation.
